Large crowds turn out to view Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall

MARINETTE - The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall is about remembering
and healing, grieving and sharing.

While many visited the Wall on their own throughout the past four days, a
large crowd gathering Saturday for the official opening ceremony.

Those involved in the ceremony, whether they were local leaders,
volunteers, Scouts or veterans, shared words of comfort, respect and
remembrance with the crowd of several hundred visitors.

Traci Olsen, secretary/treasurer of the Tri City Optimist Club, which
served as the sponsor in bringing the moving wall to the area, spoke of
the months of work and legions of volunteers who made it possible.

"It is truly a community effort," she said.

The Green Bay Packers lent their property, and several veterans groups provided the cause in a flagraising
ceremony Saturday outside Lambeau Field.  Rolling Thunder, an organization of military veterans raising public
awareness of American prisoners of war and those missing in action raised a POW/MIA flag on the Harlan Plaza.
